SNK HEROINES

Athena Asamiya

Athena Asamiya is a character originally from Psycho Soldier and a distant relative and modern-day counterpart of Princess Athena from Athena. Her official nickname is The Psychic-Powered Idol but she is perhaps best known for changing her outfit and hairstyle for virtually every main installment and is Nona (an illustrator hired by SNK in 1995, he drew various in-game art and portraits in Fatal Fury, KOF01-03, XI-Xiii & SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos) favorite character to draw. Athena is very outgoing, polite, friendly and happy with righteous virtues and well-meaning morals. She was taught by Chin Gentsai, her style is the Wing Chun Kung Fu and her stance was loosely based on Liuhebafa. She treasures her fans and strives to do her best to fight for them. Athena is a powerful psychic, capable of harnessing several psionic abilities, a famous J-Pop star, good at designing, creating websites, anything relating to the internet and she’s especially good at lacrosse.


Kula Diamond

Kula Diamond first appeared as the sub-boss in The King of Fighters 2000. She was created with the codename Anti-K by NESTS (a secret syndicate that used the King of Fighters 99-2001 tournaments to carry out their plans for world domination) but her official nickname is Ice Doll and her original hair color is strawberry blonde (but changes to a light blue when she activates her powers). She was specially made with attempts to depict a 14-year-old girl with appropriate gestures, to exterminate K’ which is why she possesses the same design, and clothes. Kula fears going back to her previous ways so she doesn’t use her powers to full extent and prefers close combat as to not kill anyone by accident. Kula is a Cryokinesis user with impressive control over ice, her powers are strong enough to freeze and shatter a space station. Kula is very flexible, acrobatic and agile so her fighting style is primarily based on K’s but adapted to her ice-based powers, which allows her to fights using her ice skates to their full extent.


Mai Shiranui

Mai Shiranui is from the Fatal Fury series, her breasts were modeled after Fumie Hosokawa and her bottom after the late-Ai Iijima (both women were famous idols). Mai is a very cheerful and temperamental girl, somewhat of an airhead, she admires any kind beauty or attractiveness (which sometimes comes across as being vain). She dreams of getting married to her prince charming Andy Bogard, her self-proclaimed fiancé (which creeped out Andy). Mai is the granddaughter of Hanzo Shiranui, master of ninjitsu and Koppo-ken; uses the Shiranui-ryuu form of ninjutsu combined with her fire powers to fight with more graceful and majestic moves, in reference to traditional Japanese dance. Mai is an expert with climbing surfaces, a master of stealth, can temporarily stay airborne, float, glide, change directions in mid-air or gain temporary flight; plus she can hide/pull out infinite weapons and/or items from her clothing/cleavage, and create/control fire (she can’t control other’s flames and is not immune to other types of fire). Mai can also change clothes within a seconds to distract her opponents and defeat them.


Nakoruru

Nakoruru is a character in the Samurai Shodown series of fighting games. She is based on the Ainu people of Hokkaido (Native Japanese). Nakoruru famous “This is nature’s punishment” quote is based on Sailor Moon’s “In the name of the moon, I punish you” line. At 15, Nakoruru accepts the new Kamui warrior of Kamui Kotan position. Fulfilling this role diligently since 1786 until sacrificing herself to nature by sleeping in Kamui Kotan’s forests forever at nature’s beckoned call. She later transcended even further and melded her soul with Gaia becoming a Divine Spirit. As the “Maidens of Light”, she travels across space/time to prevent disasters from occurring. Nakoruru is calm and gentle, shy toward people yet, her mannerisms and appearance make her seem rather “doll-like”. Nakoruru can hear and sense nature/people’s voice and spirits, heal wounds, fill weapon with ki energy and reflect projectile. Nakoruru normally fights with a kodachi and depending on the game, Mamahaha (a hawk) or Shikuru (a wolf).


Leona Heidern

Leona also known as Leona Heidern is a character introduced in KOF’96. Born in an unnamed village, residing with her family until Leona slaughtered everyone in the village because of her Orochi heritage. Leona lost her memories and wanders aimlessly until she was adopted by Heidern. Leona is a reticent individual who has trouble expressing herself outside of combat or a mission. Due to her past, she often keeps her emotions in check, afraid of losing control and hurting her friends because of the Riot of the Blood state. Her official nickname is The Silent Soldier. Leona can create a cutting aura to pierce or cut anything with her hands or feet, create a ball of energy surrounded by several energy blades or go into Riot of the Blood state (due to her Orochi heritage whenever Orochi’s presence is near so long as Orochi’s power remains weak, she retains control). She seems to emulate her adoptive father, Heidern and Ralf’s moves, pay homage to Kamen Rider, references to JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and take namesakes from Grendizer.


Yuri Sakazaki

Yuri Sakazaki is a character introduced in the Art of Fighting series as a damsel in distress, alongside her older brother, Ryo Sakazaki. When she was six years old, her mother died in a car accident prompting father to leaves in order to protect his children leaving her fearful and heavily dependent on Ryo for the rest of their childhood. When she was 17, Yuri was kidnapped by Mr. Big (on behalf of Geese Howard). A friendly young girl who always (gets kidnapped) cares about her family, friends, and is the first female practitioner of Kyokugenryu Karate. Yuri uses the lowest-grade version of the Kyokugenryu Karate discipline, she was taught only the basic and low-level moves but she managed to create her own version of the Kyokugen-style (including the signature Ryuuko Ranbu). Yuri can create a ball of energy in her hands to reflect projectiles fire the Ko-Ou Ken and Haoh Shoukou Ken blast normally and gather chi from Gaia. In some games, when Yuri is knocked out with a special move, the top of her costume is torn off!


Shermie

Shermie is a character who first appeared in The King of Fighters ’97 as a member of the New Face Team. She is one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Orochi but the true origins of the Orochi fighter known as Shermie are shrouded in mystery. Shermie played the keyboards, along with Yashiro Nanakase and Chris form a music band called “CYS” (based on the first letter of the name of each member). They enter the KOF tournament due to Yashiro’s grudge against a rival, Band of Fighters bassist, Iori Yagami. Shermie is very outgoing and friendly as she doesn’t seem to take battle too seriously, often dancing around and using her cellphone during battle. Shermie blows kisses towards male characters she finds attractive before battles. When not using Orochi power, she relies on grappling combat style and is quite agile using some gymnastics moves. She performs a variety of body slams, most involving acrobatic moves, counter throws, plus she can grab and throw anyone in spite of their weight.


Sylvie Paula Paula

Sylvie Paula Paula is a new character in The King of Fighters XIV. One of the last remnants of NESTS, Sylvie was considered useless by the secret society until the day she demonstrated her electromagnetic powers. After the cartel’s collapse, she was scouted by future employer Antonov during an underground fighting event and was later hired along with Mian and Kukri as part of his Official Invitation Team. Sylvie is a cheerful and innocent, yet strange and childlike individual. Her mind has been affected by the experiments performed on her to bring about her abilities, so she considers the objects she wears and a voice inside her head as her “friends”. Sylvie can take matters seriously and is trying to overcome her past trauma so she feels a certain kinship with fellow NESTS experiment Kula Diamond. Sylvie can control electricity, allowing her to propel herself across the ground and into the air, using her electrokinesis. Her fighting style is heavily centered around electrical manipulation mixed with her own odd improvised form of martial arts.


Zarina

Zarina is a new character who debuts in The King of Fighters XIV. Zarina fights hard to protect the nesting place of her toucan companion “Coco” whose species is facing the threat of extinction. She reveals to her teammates that she was able to procure the land she wanted with Antonov’s help, as he already had purchased much of the land for one of his businesses. Although the others assume she had won him over by appealing to his emotions, she gleefully admits she simply kicked him in the crotch instead. Zarina is a nice and cheerful person, but as noted above, isn’t above resorting to dirty tricks to get what she wants. Zarina can infuse her attacks with chi, usually in the shape of flowers. Fond of samba dance, she uses her dancing skills to kick her opponents in rhythm. Zarina fights using various kicking and dancing skills resembling Capoeira.


Love Heart

Love Heart is the main character of one of SNK Pachinko game series Sky Love and a new fighter in The King of Fighters XIV. Love Heart is the captain of the Elicion III. Like her father who was killed, she is a skilled fighter who is strong enough to fire two bazookas at once. She wears her father’s keepsake around her neck, which can grant her mysterious powers. Love was transported from her world by a dimension disturbance. She is approached by Nakoruru who requests her help to investigate the phenomenon, after Verse’s defeat, Love expresses her wishes to return home but Nakoruru instead decides to drag her along to explore their new world first, much to Love’s annoyance. Love is a serious, righteous, charismatic leader of the Sky Pirates, dedicated to fighting for freedom. Love fights with a magical sword and flies around


Mian

Mian is a new character in The King of Fighters XIV. Mian is a Sichuan opera dancer and woman fighter who joins Sylvie Paula Paula in underground tournaments. Despite her high dancing skills, Mian is an extremely shy person and doesn’t drop her mask often, except for rare instances where she displays self-confidence. Sometimes, she can be a little greedy when it comes to her contract for money and one of her own desires. Mian’s fighting style is a hybrid of martial arts and Sichuanese opera.


Luong

Luong is a new character introduced in The King of Fighters XIV. Luong is the femme fatale fighter with mysterious motivations. She met Gang-Il during his world tour and fell in love with him. A seductive woman of elegance, Luong likes to “play” with her opponents and feels excited in the heat of battle. Outside of battle, she shows less of her cold side and rather shows affection towards Gang-il and his star student Kim, much to the latter’s dismay. Luong is able to stretch and snap her legs swiftly and at an extreme range like a whip, similar to Duo Lon. Luong fights with an as-yet unidentified fighting style, although it is one that greatly emphasizes her kicks, agility, flexibility, and acrobatics. She is also shown breaking necks, whether from an accurate kick or as part of a standing head scissors grab.


Mui Mui

Mui Mui is the main protagonist from SNK’s pachislot game series, Dragon Gal. Mui Mui is the last successor of the dragon clan martial arts and a master of Kung-fu. With her ancient dragon blood, she can transform into her adult self. Mui Mui travels on a never-ending quest to find gems with mysterious powers. She’s a girl who’s always hearty and hungry like a wolf. Due to her dragon blood, Mui Mui possesses superior strength and can easily crush large boulders. her fighting style is classic kung-fu from ancient times.


Terry Bogard

Terry Bogard is the main protagonist of the Fatal Fury series and Japanese stereotypes for an American. He is often referred to as the Legendary Hungry Wolf and has a pet monkey named Ukee. Terry and his brother were orphans who raised themselves on the streets until being adopted by Jeff Bogard. Terry witnessed his father death at the hands of Geese Howard when he was 10. A decade later, Terry defeated Geese and then his half-brother Wolfgang Krauser a year later. Some time much later Geese who survived multiple repeated encounters with Terry over the years and started up yet another tournament for one final conflict. At the end of this fighting tournament, Terry ended up knocked Geese off the edge of Geese Tower (where the finals were held). He grabbed hold of Geese’s hand but Geese knocked Terry’s hand away, plummeting to his so-called permanent death laughing so Terry adopted his son, Rock Howard! His specialty is accurately guessing a woman’s measurements just by glancing at her & making 50 3-pointer shots in a row

Terry Bogard is an incredibly charismatic, cheerful and friendly man with everyone around him other than Geese Howard. Terry has an incredible power energy, he can sense the presence of people nearby, gather chi energy from Gaia to increase the damage of his normal attacks or fire projectiles of energy that travels through the ground, creating massive geysers of energy and summon extra rows of geysers with a single punch or wave his fist to create more. Terry can also create fire to surround his limbs for delivering a Burn Knuckle or powerful jumping axe kick (Crack Shoot). Terry uses a mixture of boxing, kickboxing, karate, kung fu and street fighting moves to create a very unique fighting style, mixed in with chi techniques, experience gained from brawling on the streets for years to hone proper techniques to his tastes. Terry is an all-around fighter, with extensive knowledge of many martial arts techniques.

Kukri

Kukri is a new character in The King of Fighters XIV. Kukri is a mysterious fighter that lives in the underground society. He hides his face with a hood at all times. Nobody knows his true identity. He is familiar with Verse, especially with the monster’s half-power within Shun’ei. He has been hired by Elisabeth to enter the King of Fighters XIV Tournament to find and rescue Ash, whose soul resides inside Verse. At first glance, Kukri comes off as a very rude, foul-mouthed, arrogant and sadistic fighter. However, it’s shown that Kukri is very observant and has a good side in him. Kukri has the power of sand in order to trick, attack, and defend against his opponents.

 

 

QNU – E3 trailers 2018

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle has even more characters coming ArcSys announced that DLC Character Pack Vol. 2 containing Aigis from Persona 4 Arena, Jubei from BlazBlue, and Carmine from Under Night In-Birth while Vol. 3 features Hakumen from BlazBlue, Naoto Shirogane from Persona 4 Arena, and Vatista from Under Night In-Birth) along with RWBY’s Yang Xiao Long will be coming to the game next Tuesday, June 19th adding a total of seven new playable characters to the game.

Each volume pack of DLC contains three characters and are available for $4.99 USD per pack or $19.99 for the entire set of six volumes. The game finally brings together the show’s core group of four heroines into the game with Ruby Rose and Weiss Schnee already in the base roster.

Bandai Namco’s new arena fighter, Jump Force bringing characters from the most popular Manga / Anime out there together for the ultimate battle. Goku, Frieza, Naruto, Monkey D. Luffy, Zoro, Sasuke and more will be among the game’s playable roster.

These teams of three characters appear to be one point character and the other two acting as assists who can be switched to the point position with one health bar shared by all three characters.

My Hero One’s Justice will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam in the Americas and Europe in October, Bandai Namco announced at E3 2018.

My Hero One’s Justice enables players to form three-person squads made up of their favorite Squads, U.A. High students, Pro Heroes, and Villains all fighting for their ideals in over-the-top three-dimensional, environment-destroying battles. Each squad consists of one primary fighter and up to two sidekicks, mirroring how Pro Hero teams are often structured in the anime.

During combat, fighters can call upon their sidekicks, as well as utilize their signature Quirks and each character’s Quirk and support attack is unique and can be executed on the ground, in the air, or even on buildings.

My Hero enables players the chance to play through character-defining moments from the anime and from game-exclusive original scenarios in Story Mode, players unlock Villain Mode, after clearing the whole story once. Completing these missions unlock items for your characters, making them even more powerful. Players can choose to play online and battle other players to hone their skills and become a worldwide hero.

Soulcalibur VI will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 19, Bandai Namco announced.

Here is a brief overview of the game, via Bandai Namco:

Taking place in the 16th century, Soulcalibur VI sets players on a voyage of discovery as they uncover events from the original Soulcalibur to learn hidden truths. The game will also feature a diverse line-up of new and returning characters with their unique fighting styles and weapons including series mainstays; Mitsurugi and Sophitia and newcomers such as special guest-character, Geralt of Rivia, from CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher series and GrØh who was recently announced.

Bandai Namco has revealed Soul Calibur 6’s official release date today at E3 2018. The latest entry in the 3D weapons-based fighter is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 19th, 2018.

Along with a release date, a new story mode trailer for Soul Calibur 6 was unveiled. In it, we see several of the currently announced characters doing battle as a search for Soul Edge unfolds.

The trailer opens with a look at Siegfried grabbing a hold of the Soul Edge and harnessing its power. We go on to see battles between Mitsurugi and Groh, Ivy and Xianghua, and more.

An interesting menu with character names is shown that appears to be the way players will experience the story. Progress for each character and the timeline of their stories is featured here, meaning we’ll likely be able to piece together the full tale with each character individually.

A quick look at story mode art pieces can also be seen here. In these stills, we see other characters such as Cervantes, though we’re unsure if this confirms that he’ll be a part of the playable roster.

Two more characters that first debuted in The King of Fighters XIV, Mian and leaked character Luong has been officially announced as playable in SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy.

Meet Luong, the femme fatale and a seductive beauty, and Mian, the Sichuan opera dancer that rarely appears without her mask! Both heroines pack quite a punch with their array of acrobatics and martial arts moves. Watch out for Luong’s whip-like “Tou” Dream Finish and Mian’s “Rangurenbu” Dream Finish! With alluring fighting styles that are as beautiful as they are powerful, you’d better be ready to face them when they arrive!

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is due out for PlayStation 4 and Switch on September 6 in Japan and September 7 in North America and Europe.
